This year at the ISRE2019 conference, the ISRE Early Career Researchers Section is extending the poster award initiative to recognise excellence in early career emotion researchers. Awards play a crucial role in helping young outstanding researchers achieve recognition, increase chances for competitive funding and thus improve career opportunities outside their established networks. We invite early career researchers to put forward their work in poster form for consideration of the poster award (details below).
The recipient of this award will receive a cash prize of $200 USD and a £100 Sage journal/book voucher. The 3 finalists will receive an accompanying certificate and their posters will be displayed for the remaining duration of the conference.
Applicants must be ISRE student members at the time of application, and must be either current students, recent graduates (within a year of the conference), or presenting thesis work. Eligible posters must present the applicant’s work, on which they are first author, and the work must not already be published, in press, or presented at another conference. A signed letter from the advisor affirming that the poster represents the applicant’s work needs to be provided.
Applicants will be able to indicate their desire to be considered for the poster award upon conference registration through the conference website.
Submissions will be judged by a panel of senior emotion researchers, who will select 10 finalists prior to the conference. Each finalist’s poster will be visited by two judges during the conference, and will be rated on both the quality of the research and its presentation. The deadline for submissions for the poster award is June 1.
