Getting there

By air

Amsterdam is a world-class international transport hub. Amsterdam international Airport, Schiphol, is located 9 km southwest of Amsterdam and is well connected via public transportation. Schiphol Station with frequent direct trains straight from the airport to Amsterdam central station (Amsterdam Centraal) is located directly below the airport; the train station is located in the main courtyard of the airport, along with kiosks and a retail desk to buy tickets and reloadable public transportation passes (OV-Chipkaart). Taxis and buses are located just outside the terminal.

By train

For conference visitors from Europe, train is also a great option. You can travel to Amsterdam using international train services operated by Thalys, ICE International, CityNightLine and Eurostar. Trains arrive at Amsterdam central station (Amsterdam Centraal) in the city centre. At Amsterdam central station you can buy public transportation tickets and load public transport passes (OV-Chipkaart), and transfer directly to the local public transport (metro, trams, and busses). There are information and retail desks inside the central train station for the train company (NS), and just outside for the bus/tram company (GVB), and the tourist information office (VVV). There is luggage storage available inside the central train station, and a taxi stand can be found outside.
